As one of the cultural worker-artists invited to help organize the event, I am helping design the workshop, pull together the space, cook and poster design!

Free event and open to the public (special priority for Dorchester residents, youth and POC)

We’re in year 2034. The wildest radical manifestos of our imaginations are unfolding! How old will we be? What will we be wearing? What do we want to see? Who will we be living amongst?

We might imagine dystopic futures where we fail to demilitarize the police. We might have valiantly fought for climate action, reformed public education, preserved net neutrality, and dismantled racism and other world apartheids as individuals enacting by our collective power.

You are welcomed to help us vision. Join our 2034 time portal on June 6th 2015 5:30-11pm at the Dorchester Arts Collaborative. In this space we will imagine our Black, Brown and working class communities into the future.

Dinner 5:30pm – 6:30pm | Imagining 6:30 – 9:30pm | AfterParty 9:30pm – 11:00pm

We will be forward thinking along cities across the country for the United States Department of Arts and Culture (USDAC) Cultural Imaginings. “Radically inclusive, useful and sustainable, and vibrantly playful, the USDAC aims to spark a grassroots, creative change movement, engaging millions in performing and creating a world rooted in empathy, equity, and social imagination.” Chrislene, Boston’s USDAC cultural agent, along with a collective of cultural workers and artists are facilitating Boston’s cultural imagining for youth, families, organizers, artists, and anyone who wants to imagine.

We invite you to dress and act like you’re living in 2034. Through a multi-media sensory experience we will sweep into the future where we will have activated our divine intuitive 6th sense. It will be a shame-less space where folks will go all out, let loose, and critically break it ALL down. We envision that by 2034, people will be obliged to acknowledge our authentic selves – name identity markers respectfully.Together we will envision a Boston that honors and brings justice to people of all cultural backgrounds. Let’s come together and imagine our future in 2034.

The event is limited to 60 participants. RSVP on Eventbrite ASAP.
