Full & Firm

dedicated to all my lovely rams

Reflecting on the various stages of his life
Confucius had written
At 30, I stood firm

I add
in my infinite female wisdom
I may stand firm,
but I also stand
full
bodied

full
of beauty

full
of wonder

full
of joy

full
of thought

full
of care

full
of tears

full of soul

I am
full & firm
supple and tender

on this eve of my thirtieth year

I stand
happy
no longer fearful

because I have chosen to live every day
fully
for myself

for my darlings
You

with You
I have made a home

sweet home
of infinite love
and infinite wisdom
owning our finite time together

I see mirrored
in all of You
a full vibrant skirt of stars

I know what I don’t have in the whole pantheon
of gods and goddesses
I have in You

We are
miracles of heaven
as common as pebbles on the beach

blessed
to be caught up together in this remarkable sentient ocean of life

I contain this ocean
it spills as a lone tear from the corner of my eye

You contain the galaxies of stars
they reflect as the light of love in your eye

all the matter of the universe
has passed through You
resides in this stretch of skin

I carry this knowledge
as heady as I am humbled by it
